back once more, just as promised yesterday {here}, i would show you the surroundings of that amazing design market that occurred on st. george’s castle in lisbon, from friday to sunday! this castle is located in a very typical neighbourhood called {castelo}, which is close to another one very typical as well called {alfama}, and this one is close to another one called {mouraria}. these neighbourhoods have things that are curious. they are that typical with their small and narrow streets and apartments, amazing view to the river, it smells amazing in the summer with grilled sardines, and you can hear fado in some restaurants… it is the closest you can get to the typical side of lisbon. and of course, due to all this, i love wandering here to capture the details with my lens. these are some of the last results…

… because we live in a wonderful place, first because lisbon is that wonderful city, second, because our neighbourhood rocks, third because we live right next to the “city’s lung”, monsanto. mr kobe is also a very lucky dog! first because he was rescued by a friendly association, second because we brought him home, third because we live where we live and he is able to walk through amazing places, like the river, huge green parks, famous monuments or the woods! mr twiggs is also very lucky because he has me (ahah, i just had to write this!) and because he appears in several of these following pictures!

i am back again… this time just to remind you that {a place for twiggs} is open to new sponsors! well, i could just end this that way, but i will continue! first of all… why not some {faq}?
can you remind me what is this blog about? well, i would love to have you as a reader for yourself, but in a few lines it is a balanced blog that shares beautiful things found in the fields of design, photography, handmade things, capturing what is special and different. asides from this, i share all my love for photography, taking all the readers into frequent travels through lisbon through my favourite spots… and sometimes with a bit of the magic of film. this makes it a special place to be… and as frequently readers say “i cannot wait to reach the office every morning to read {a place for twiggs}!”
what are your rates? well, my rates are very very low. you can book one month for only $10, which i called {one time deal}! and now we will be having {spring-summer deal}, as you can book three months in a row and get one for free! this way you pay $30 now and get yourself advertising from june to september 2011.
why are your rates so low? does anyone reads your blog? well, pardon me… yes, there are hundreds of readers in {a place for twiggs}! and very nice readers, i must say! ok, now for real, this is a small blog! but being small does not mean that no one reads or no one pays attention. sometimes it means personalized attention. the rates are low because of that. i could not ask you for $100. well, i could, but you would think i was crazy. so, i would like to avoid any association with a mental hospital!
will i get any sales from advertising? i couldn’t promise you that, could i? it is always hard to say that you will get sales. you will get noticed. and that is quite a start point for your business. remember that relationships are what matters in marketing… and i promise you that i will share your love for what you do with my readers, fans and followers! for instance, a personal story… i was on {poppytalk handmade market} this last month. i had a few sales, but have no way to see if those sales came from {poppytalk}, because there was no huge number of sales this month, comparing to others. but i noticed that my name was more out there, than it ever was! after being featured on {decor 8}… being present on {poppytalk} was quite something for the online presence. and this means some credits for me, i am sure about that! but of course, i will not just cross my arms and wait, Iiwill keep working hard! but building my brand is always a huge thing for my business and that is what we need to do!
is there any kind of selection for sponsors to be chosen? actually there is. you know, though this is a small blog, i am extremely picky for the aesthetics of it. and i want to have sponsors in whom i believe with my soul! this is a blog about lifestyle… photography, design, handmade things (the beautiful ones!), lisbon and even some food is around. so, if you are selling… let’s say lingerie… that will not fit that much, would it? or toys for children… or the most amazing products but with crappy photography… people who read this blog, already know some things about me. and i wish to give them things in which i believe, for which i look for when i go shopping… so, you can submit your work, but that does not mean it will be chosen. and i know you understand all this, don’t you?
what will do for me if I decide to advertise on your blog? so, for starters… one interesting interview! then you have your ad on the sidebar… and from time to time i will talk about you on {facebook} & {twitter}!
can you host a giveaway for me? sorry, but i am currently not hosting giveaways. i might do it in the future, but not right now… it is a personal issue. i think that there are so many giveaways everywhere, that it stopped being special somehow! other than that, we will find several people that are only interested in the giveaways and will stop following our blog and will not care about your shop afterwards. so i prefer keeping who is really interested close by showing them how interesting you are!

… with no surprise at all, one of the first places i chose to wander with my brand new camera was chiado and downtown. both of these places are stunning, filled with beautiful architecture and historical details. the stores i love the most are located here and there is always beautiful people walking around! it seems that there is always sun and music in the air. you can drink a cup of coffee here, eat the best ice-cream in the world… and the most delicious chocolate croissants.
i must be honest, sometimes i feel a bit shy when i walk into some of my favourites stores, because i want to take pictures and let the owners know that i am sharing my favourite spots and if they wish to consider, it might be some kind of advertising for them, but i always feel so shy that the words don’t come out and i leave the store. so my next challenge is to face this issue and start talking to the owners and let them know what i want to do! either way… if you are coming to lisbon, of course you will not miss these places, because they are mandatory, but do not forget to look up… lisbon has a stunning architecture and these details should not be missed. have a great tuesday lovely friends!
