hello hello! are you good? excited for the weekend? i hope you’re having a good weather there where you live, i cannot complain at all, i’m just hoping that this can actually last for a while, instead of a month or a few weeks! well today we’re having a guest on the blog, as usual! we’re having the beautiful sylvie shirazi of gourmande in the kitchen! every month she brings a roundup of recipes and though we missed last month due to a very busy schedule, today we come back with a roundup on the best that spring can bring! so, now it’s up to sylvie!

“everything in spring embodies freshness and lightness.  during the spring and summer months i tend to like meals made with as little fuss and pretense as possible.  the best meals of the warmer seasons require minimal fussing to begin with because the produce is so fresh and tender during this time.  the sunny skies, mild days and light rains truly work their magic, producing a bounty of beautiful fruits and vegetables to work with.  here are a few recipes that embody the best this season has to offer!

sugar snap pea and fennel salad from sylvie of gourmande in the kitchen - this salad simply tastes like the season.  this double pea and fennel salad is fresh, easy and very spring-like.  a jumble of thinly sliced sugar snap peas, fennel, and tender, mildly sweet baby peas are dressed with an apple cider vinaigrette.  it’s a light and refreshing combination with a satisfying crunch.

tofu soup with pea shoots and radish from liren of kitchen confidante - nothing says spring like the appearance of pea shoots and radishes at the market. both are shining examples of the fresh flavors of the season. liren tells us the pea shoots are almost like noodles in this light broth and this light cleansing soup has all the nutrients and lightness your body is yearning for without weighing you down.
